LO3 (P4:U21, M3:U21) - Pitch your ideas
LO3 (U21) - Be able to pitch ideas on a proposed media product and respond to questions
Feedback given by client
The client seemed incredibly positive about my pitch and therefore provided limited feedback. I have listed the feedback that I received and have shown my understanding.
Positives
- Covered lots of ground including all information required to start up the magazine
- Purely based on North London which achieves the client brief perfectly
- Marketing matrix was a clever idea to identify where competitors are in relation to where my magazine would be
Negatives
- Steer clear of being gender bias
- Instead of having slides with huge amounts of words, do more graphics.
Client questions
1) Why did you choose to only target only men?
2) Are there actually a growing number of rock venues?
My responses
1) It is a predominantly male genre therefore targeting males would be a sensible option. However, I understand that there could be ethical issues therefore I would need to be careful with the way I target the magazine.
2) From my research it showed the increase in rock venues in the centre of London. For example, The Fiddlers Elbow, Dingwall's and Camden Assembly.

How the feedback will affect production:
From the clients feedback, I will take on board all points and reflect on them through my media product. They were very helpful, therefore they will affect the production of my magazine. The main point the client put forward was to steer clear of being gender bias. As this was the only piece of criticism the client gave me, it is the only thing I will be able to change about my media product. This suggests all the feedback was relevant and I will take in on board, and there weren't any bits that I want to ignore. By accepting the feedback and the gender bias point, it means I decided to include female artists names on the front cover of the magazine. This affects production, as the headings have to change to different peoples names. I have included a woman as one of the main artists featured on the front, which really stands out and makes sure the audience and readers believe it is a multi gender genre. This would in turn attract females to buy the magazine instead of just cutting off this gender from purchasing it.
